About A-CTEC
A-CTEC is a not for profit, Australia wide, member-based education platform, hosting a suite of evidence- based, interactive clinical trials education opportunities suitable for a range of learning needs.
A-CTEC is supported by the Victorian Research Translation Centres Collaborative (VRTCC). VRTCC is a collaboration of Victoria’s two NHMRC accredited Research Translation Centres, Monash Partners Academic Health Science Centre (Monash Partners) and the Melbourne Academic Centre for Health (MACH), in partnership with the rural/regional focused Western Alliance Academic Health Science Centre (Western Alliance).
A-CTEC Vision
To build the capacity and capability of the clinical trials workforce in Australia through easy access to world-class education and training opportunities, at no cost to the end user.
We aim to achieve this by:
- Offering education and training that caters to the various levels of experience and competency of the clinical trials workforce, and is relevant to the needs of different settings that undertake clinical trials across metropolitan, regional and rural Australia (hospitals, medical research institutes, universities).
- Ensuring A-CTEC offerings are interactive, practical, multi-modal and evidence based.
- Providing opportunities for the clinical trials workforce to network, share learnings and engage in the co-design of A-CTEC activities.
- Working collaboratively to share resources and expertise and reduce duplication in clinical trials education and training efforts across Australia.
Target Audience
All staff involved in clinical trials in health service settings across Australia, regardless of role or site. The audience will include: study coordinators, research nurses and clinical trial assistants, investigators, clinical trial pharmacists, HREC and governance officers, clinical and non-clinical research staff, general staff in departments that interact with clinical trials, employees involved in clinical trials from hospitals, community health settings, universities, and any location where clinical trial research is undertaken.
